The Global Leadership Summit was absolutely phenomenal! The leadership strategies given by each speaker was empowering and instrumental to the growth of current and future leaders in any capacity. Bishop McLaughlin elaborated further on leadership on the kingdom level as it relates to the church with his message entitled, Leadership “Now” for “Later”, referencing 1 Samuel 22:1-2. Bishop taught us that we should not anticipate fast track to leadership and leadership is all about the future. In addition, qualified current leaders need qualified current potential leaders. Leaders should always respect and recognize who God loves and who God wants to use even if it doesn’t fit our description. David was anointed by God and man. He was faithful to his Father, faithful to his assignment, but was not in contention to be king by man’s standards. Neither were the candidates who came to David. They were in distress, in debt, and discontented. These men with issues eventually became known as David’s mighty men! The scriptures shows us how God took seemingly unqualified individuals and turned their lives around through the mentoring and leadership of one man, David!
