Arguably, no other time in American history has uncertainty loomed over our nation than it does now. Social unrest, political uncertainty, plagues, economic turmoil, and more swirls like never before. Our Bishop, always with a Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other, encouraged us yesterday with a stirring word, “All I know is Jesus and Him Crucified”; Rom. 13:11, 1 Cor. 2:1-2. Today’s times have made us into savvy saints with an extra keen awareness of issues concerning social justice, economic reform, and perceived religious oppression; “woke” as it were. But “woke” folk have gone way left! We too as the church are admonished to be “woke” or awake in the things of God and navigate this world in which we live with a biblical worldview. As woke Christians, we walk by faith not by sight, we are selfless and self-sacrificing, we commit our existence to the well-being of others, and we shouldn’t be blindsided by the gods of this world. God is the same God he was yesterday, and he’ll be the same God tomorrow; he hasn’t and won’t change. Whatever he brings our way, we need only remember the sustaining & unwavering power of Jesus and Him crucified! Access this message here:
