‘Tis the season to be Thankful! Bishop McLaughlin gave a timely Wednesday Night message entitled, “Black Friday? All Friday’s Matters” referencing Romans 14:5-6, which taught us just how much the holidays have been influenced by our culture and distorted from its original intent. Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, has been esteemed as a special day for shopping and getting the best deals and millions of Americans will be in the stores reaping the benefits. Thanksgiving is a time to show our gratitude and express our thanks to God, however, Bishop stated, “We have replaced the giving of thanks for the desire for more.” He reminded us that it’s not about accumulating stuff and things and we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things should be added unto us. Let’s set our affections above, not on things on the earth. Every Friday matters, as every day matters! #giveThanks #AllFridaysMatter #tphimjax
