People around the world are troubled by the recent catastrophic events. We’ve witnessed the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, which caused widespread, extensive flooding. Now, Florida awaits Hurricane Irma, who is classified as the most powerful Atlantic hurricane on record, threatening major destruction. Many people are preparing for what could be the inevitable and have unanswered questions. Is this the wrath of God on America? If there is a God then why does He allow this to happen? Bishop McLaughlin’s?Wednesday?Night bible lesson entitled, “Irma: God, Evil Or Just Nature?” referencing Nahum t1:3, addresses these questions. We learned that how we answer these queries is determined by our relationship and knowledge of God.
Bishop taught us that whatever happens in the world is necessary for the accomplishment of God’s purposes. In addition, God is a good God who interacts with humanity for the purposes of leading us to Him in a way that exalts us for our ultimate good. God is all-powerful and a loving deity, who cares for the world, human beings and other life forms that He created. We can’t fight against the plans of God, but what we can do is seek God for more truth and deeper revelation.
Bishop encouraged us to not blame and call out God and start calling ON GOD. Saints, be encouraged, praise God, and count it all joy! We don?t have the all the answers, but we know the character of God and through it all we will come out stronger! Remember, God is in control and our faith is not in vain! #trustGod #faith #beEncouraged
